2009
My name is Jason Learned and this is my Personal Website. I am a Professional Firefighter/Paramedic with Pierce County Fire District 16. I am also an active volunteer with two different non profit organizations. The first being Firefighters Crossing Borders and the second being The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training Program. In my spare time you can find me out riding my bike, taking photos, and out hiking in the great northwest. This next summer I am going to try my hand at kayaking in the San Juan Islands.
I have been volunteering for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the past 5 years. I started out, as many do, as a participant in the program raising money and training to complete a Century Bike Ride in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. I was so moved by the program and its participants and coaches that I keep coming back year after year. The 2009 season will be my 5th season riding with this awesome group of folks! This year I plan on returning as an Assistant Coach for the Spring/Summer program which includes Americas Most Beautiful Bike RIde at Lake Tahoe and The Group Health Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic. I have committed to raising a minimum of $3,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, so I will not only need your encouragement and prayers for this season but I will also be asking for you to open your pocket books and donate to this awesome cause.
Your donated money goes to fund research to find a cure for all types of blood cancers. You may have read or heard recently in the news that deaths caused by cancers is on the decline. Your money is making a difference!!
